Our culminating project required students to create their own weather forecasts. Students were asked to describe the expected weather for the day, the high/low temperature and a safety/clothing tip for their viewers.


Step #1- Identifying Weather Symbols
     Students recorded the weather on their weather calendar for a little over two weeks




Step #2- Watch Weather Forecasts/Record Nightly Forecasts





 
Step #3- Watched a variety of forecasts off YouTube- these served as our "mentor texts"

Step #4- Created a Noticings Chart- Discussed essential information & parts of a forecast
  ***Students had the option to create circle map/noticings chart at their seat :)
 
 
Step #5- Students were given their weather project rubric & checklist


Step #6- Students divided into partner groups & began working on weather outline
 

Step #7- Students went on to create their scripts
 

Step #8- Make Weather Flip & Practice/Practice/Practice

Step #9- Presentation Day! :)
